Heat Wave

We are having a heat wave this week.  I'm not a fan.  However, I found these delicious margaritas today at grocery outlet and it's making the weather tolerable.  I also found a slip n' slide at marshalls!  We plugged the hose in and off Ryden went!  Unfortunately, the grass underneath was not very soft and Ryden suffered a few wounds.  :-/  I have to get that backyard under control asap.  I was thinking of replacing most of the grass with ornamental grass.  But, we at least have to have a long enough patch of soft new grass for the slip n' slide!

First Tooth gone!

Success!  After what seemed like forever, Ryden lost his first tooth!  I noticed that a back tooth was growing and that's when I said, WE ARE GETTING THAT SUCKER OUT!!  He let me tug on it several times a day until it fell out by itself while eating cheese and crackers!  The tooth fairy was very generous and was kind enough to write out a teeny tiny note and a receipt and placed it in a teeny tiny envelope.  The pillow was handmade by Ryden's great aunt.  Now on to the next tooth!

My Picks for Mother's Day

I am not normally one to wear a watch, but this classic piece (in a dreamy color) could convince me to start!
This is a lovely chalkboard design personalized iphone case.
This retro book is chockful of sweet recipes for every occasion, with the bonus of cocktail recipes!
I am a sagittarius so these gold arrows would be perfect for me (or anyone really)!
I love silhouettes.  And this sweet wooden one is completely customizable in finish and colors.
I have always coveted the diptyque baies (a bouquet of roses and black currants) candle.

Easter Egg Hunt!

It was a beautiful hot day here in Monterey.  We had brunch at the golf course, and an Easter Egg hunt in the woods.  Ryden found the elusive "Golden" egg!

Our Easter eggs

My Easter eggs this year. My intent was to paint them with perfect lines, but once I started spray painting them I free formed. I found plastic eggs at Walmart and sprayed them in the egg carton. I used Emerald Green Krylon and Gold Rustoleum spray paint.
